Spirit connection is NOT or doesn’t need to be hooky spooky
Spirit connection is all hooky spooky, witch like and full of spells. Wrong.
It’s something that really irks me about this space, those that reinforce that it is hooky spooky, witch like and full of spells. Does it really need to be? Can spirit connection not just be your everyday? Because bottom line is we all have a sixth sense, we all can read a room (“I just walked in and could sense this tension”, as an example). It’s not hooky spooky to read a room or follow that gut feeling to do or say something that we simply can’t explain… so are the talents of those who take these abilities to next level really hooky spooky?
Let me break it down for you as a psychic medium who has had to navigate these waters…
And I mean I get it. It can be pretty freaky for someone who has never met you to be able to tell you things about yourself with no way they could have known. Or connect with a passed loved one, describing them and passing on messages who they have never met. So what is a psychic medium and how do they work?
A psychic connects with your energetic field and spirit guides (or universe, however you want to dress it up), to bring clarity around specific issues and/or making decisions. It’s about connecting soul to soul so to speak with the person and centred in their everyday world. Each psychic works differently, but the way I do readings is to share what is coming through first, peppered with asking if there are any questions before moving on, and finishing with time for the person to ask specific questions. You don’t need to have questions when you go to a reading, but I’m learning more and more that even if people say they have no questions, they secretly do!
With mediumship, this is connecting to a person’s loved ones in the spirit world. It’s a soul to soul connection again, but with someone who is dead. And this can be either a person or animal. I’ve done mediumship readings with both passed animals and humans. And from a psychic’s viewpoint, it’s quite similar in how the information comes through. I get shown visually, hear, sense or know things (sometimes all at once) information about the person and can go further depending on the needs of the person I am reading for. A disclaimer for all mediums is that there is never a guarantee that a passed loved one will come through or step forward. We ask that they do, but may not receive.
So why are some of us able to see, hear, sense, smell and know and others can’t? In my experience, it’s those that are super-sensitive that seem to have this as a natural ability over others. They are so sensitive to others and the outside world, they can pick up on energies and their psychic senses come very naturally and easily. For me, I had my first vision at age 12 riding home on a bus from World Expo 88, I saw Mother Mary in the back of a bus seat (BIG SECRET REVEAL!). Yep it freaked me out! And yes I was raised Catholic for context. I looked away and back again many times to test what I thought was a hallucination but it wasn’t going away. Is that normal? Not for everyone, but for those that have these abilities at a more heightened level, yes.
So is this all hooky spooky? It doesn’t have to be. Sure back in the day, this was the work of witches who were burnt at the stake for these abilities! Crikey, I’m glad we’ve moved on. But I have to say some of the hangover of these times still exist. It made coming out (as we say in the psychic world) pretty scary for me. There was a fear of judgement and I’ve heard some pretty judgey stories, people made fun of, when they did come out.
So please regard this work as non hooky-spooky, non witch like and not full of spells. If that’s your cup of tea, go for it and there are some psychics that work in this way. I don’t.
It’s all about energy, energetic fields and connecting with different levels of source. Energy reading, not mind reading. Anybody can do it if they work at developing their natural intuition, sixth sense or gut feelings.
And no we can’t predict winning lottery numbers or answer all your questions as otherwise they’d be no reason for you to be having a human experience! But you can sure bet you’ll walk away feeling lighter, more confident and with clarity about your next steps.
