what do you need to make a website function?
There are three components required to make a website work – you need a buy a domain name, web hosting and a website.
what is a domain name and why do i need to register for one?
A domain name is a “unique” name used to identify and locate computers on the Internet. Domain names provide a system of easy-to-remember Internet addresses which are translated by DNS (Domain Name Servers) into numeric IP (Internet Protocol) addresses used by the Internet. A domain name is unique and allows you to have an “identity” on the Internet. Domain names form the basis of the common Internet naming scheme. For example, www.MichelleBuckley.com.au is a domain name.
Usually you will have a business that either is already set up or you are thinking of starting up a business. The obvious choice for a domain name is the name of the business. For example www.YourBusiness.com.
most domains can be purchased directly from your web hosting provider and you can do it during the setup of your web hosting account or directly after.
what is web hosting?
Web hosting is like Internet real-estate. If you want to build a house, you need a place to build it and roads to get to it. Similarly, if you want to build a website, you need server space to store your files and bandwidth (speed) to access your site. There are many different web hosting companies out there with varying prices.
MPress recommends GoDaddy for cost effective and reliable WordPress hosting and domain names CLICK HERE FOR FURTHER INFORMATION.

If your company logo is supplied in a digital format please supply it in the highest resolution (size/quality) you have
Any artwork, logos, photos, and brochures that you have need to be collected together – this will all help in the design and outcome of your website. Your company’s logos, product photography and Text should all be available in digital form. (TIFF, EPS, JPEG, GIF or other).
